The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation have announced the appointment of Michel Madelain as Managing Director of the IFRS Foundation for a two-year term beginning 9 September 2024.
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, and the IFRS Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding agreeing their strategic partnership to strengthen sustainable capital markets by improving sustainability and climate reporting in emerging markets and developing economies.
The IFRS Foundation’s annual conference took place on 24−25 June 2024. Recordings of the IASB and ISSB Chairs’ keynote speeches are available to watch on demand. Andreas Barckow’s keynote—Complexity in focus—has also been transcribed.
The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation announced the appointments of Mark Mahar, Natsumu Tsujino and Leon Yongbum Kim to the IFRS Interpretations Committee (Committee). Mr Mahar, Ms Tsujino and Mr Yongbum Kim succeed Guy Jones, Goro Kumagai and Jon Nelson respectively. The new Committee members will start their three-year terms on 1 July 2024.

The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation met in Singapore on 4 June 2024. Chair Erkki Liikanen delivered a speech at the stakeholder dinner organised in conjunction with the meeting.

At its meeting on 19 June, the IASB unanimously decided to move forward with finalising the revision of IFRS Practice Statement 1 Management Commentary by making targeted refinements to its proposals set out in the Exposure Draft Management Commentary.
