The Trustees of the IFRS Foundation (Trustees) are pleased to announce the appointments of Mark Mahar, Natsumu Tsujino and Leon Yongbum Kim to the IFRS Interpretations Committee (Committee).
Mr Mahar is a Partner at EY in the United States. He has more than 28 years of experience in audit, regulatory and accounting on topics ranging from leases, consolidation and climate reporting. Mr Mahar advises the EY global network on emerging IFRS-related financial reporting matters. He also led EY’s global implementation of converged accounting standards and US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Mr Mahar previously held roles at the US Securities and Exchange Commission and at PwC in Australia and the US.
Ms Tsujino is an investor and Senior Fellow at Sompo Holdings in Japan, where she advises on various matters in the areas of financial strategy, financial reporting and investor relations, drawing from her extensive experience as an equity analyst. She has more than 20 years of experience as an equity analyst, and almost 25 years of experience in the insurance and banking sectors. She previously worked for Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities and J.P. Morgan Securities.
Mr Yongbum Kim is Head of Finance Office for KT&G Corporation, an FMCG company listed on the KOSPI Exchange in the Republic of Korea. His role encompasses various areas of finance such as accounting, tax, treasury, asset management and investor relations. He has more than 25 years of experience in the finance area. Previously, Mr Yongbum Kim served as the Head of Investor Relations for the company and was responsible for liaising with both domestic and overseas shareholders and overseeing external disclosure management.
Mr Mahar, Ms Tsujino and Mr Yongbum Kim succeed Guy Jones, Goro Kumagai and Jon Nelson respectively. The Trustees express their gratitude to the former members for their dedication and service during their tenure.
The new Committee members will start their three-year terms on 1 July 2024.
