Mark Mahar

Biography

Mark Mahar has been a Partner at EY in the United States since 2009. He has more than 25 years of audit, regulatory and accounting experience covering many topics, including leases, consolidation and climate reporting. Mr Mahar advises the EY global network on IFRS-related financial reporting matters. He also led EY’s global implementation of converged accounting standards and US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). 

Mr Mahar previously worked in the Office of the Chief Accountant in the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for five years, providing advice to the SEC on US GAAP and IFRS accounting matters. He also worked at PwC in Australia and the US, leading audit engagements for global companies using a variety of local GAAPs.

Mr Mahar is a CPA in Washington, DC. He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Villanova University.
