About the role

Job purpose: This newly created position will support the Financial Controller by ensuring effective management of receivables, improving processes and ensuring the accuracy of revenue recognition.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct report for two members in the Revenue Finance team, providing support and backup as required
  • Approve all revenue contracts in Salesforce, ensuring correct categorisation
  • Approve all invoices and handle revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversee the credit control process
  • Follow up with donors on outstanding contributions
  • Calculate and post monthly journals at month-end: accruals, deferral, bad-debt provision
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Improve process by leading initiatives like revenue automation and documentation of key processes
  • Manage all revenue templates in Business and update as required
  • Liaise with Communications team to update funding and thank-you letters
  • Liaise with Legal team on contracts in Salesforce
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Financial Controller and the wider team as required

Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA newly qualified accountant
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principles, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and financial reporting
  • Experience in managing a small team
  • Excellent numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate or above proficiency level in Excel
  • Previous experience working with multiple currencies

Desirable

  • Experience working in an international environment
  • Experience working with Business Central and Salesforce
