The Capital Markets Advisory Committee (CMAC) has appointed three new members: Oliver Gottlieb, Matthias Meitner and Larissa van Deventer.
Oliver is a senior equity analyst at HSBC Global Asset Management. From 2012 to 2018 Oliver managed UK equity portfolios; and prior to that he covered the European market as an analyst. Oliver has been a member of several CFA UK working groups. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds the CFA UK’s Certificate in ESG Investing. Oliver graduated with a first-class degree in economics from Exeter University.
Matthias is the managing partner of VALUESQUE, a consultancy firm that focuses on business valuations and financial analysis. Prior to this he spent over a decade as an equity portfolio manager at Allianz SE and Allianz Global Investors. Matthias holds a doctorate from the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg and is Chair of Finance at the International School of Management in Munich. He is also a CFA charterholder and head of the German CFA Society’s expert network on Equity Valuation and Analysis.
Larissa is a sell-side equity research analyst at Barclays, covering the European insurance sector. She previously covered South African insurance companies for eleven years at Barclays, Deutsche Bank and Macquarie. Larissa has a BCom (Hons) degree in accounting sciences from the University of Pretoria, and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. She is qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa (CA(SA)) and a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA).
All the appointments take effect from 1 January 2021 for a three-year period (with the option to renew each appointment for a second three-year period).
The CMAC is an independent advisory body established to provide the International Accounting Standards Board with regular input from an international community of users of financial statements.
